Ted somehow saw Gooey’s name flash on the screen of a senior executive’s computer, and then he spent a few minutes scaring Gooey (even with no context). Finally he ended the discussion with this non sequitur…
Gooey: “Well, I guess we’ll never know [what this means].”
Ted: “Well, if she e-mails you or something I’ve got a quote you could send her back that fits this situation perfectly………”
[Ted digs around his desk and proudly holds up a piece of paper, fresh off the printer, which reads]
‘Education is what you're left with when you have forgotten what you learned.’
Ted: “Heh, hehehe. See, perfect!”
This whole exchange is vintage Ted because it covers several of his favorite topics:
1. Being one step ahead of management, because he saw the executive's screen
2. Scaring people
3. Hating higher education.
4. Best of all, the paper Ted held up is a misquote of Albert Einstein.
